Andover's MS Society Ask Malthouse to Step Down as Patron

  • Written by Editor

Local News | Andover's MS Society Ask Malthouse to Step Down | Andover & VillagesFollowing the news this week that North West Hampshire's MP Kit Malthouse voted to cut ESA disability benefits by £30 a week, Andover's MS Society have asked him to step down as their patron.

The vote will mean that those who apply for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the work-related activity group (Wrag), will see the benefit drop from £103 to £73 per week.

The Government hopes that the cut, which only applies to new claimants, will incentivise disabled people to find work.

Donna Birch, Chair of Andover's MS Society, told Andover & Villages, "Due to recent events we no longer feel that Kit Malthouse is a suitable patron, so we have asked him to step down from this role."

Kit Malthouse was campaigning today with fellow Conservatives in Andover Town Centre to leave the EU, and was therefore unavailable for comment.

They all stick together for what they can get themselves from parliament. Yet us disabled people are the ones losing out,and it's so terrible.

Tthey are all as bad as each other, scum! And us disabled people are paying the price

Claire Perry is equally as bad. Everyone across this country should get together and force these people out of office where they can no longer harm disabled people. They are a menace to our communities. Claire Perry always votes what Cameron wants so her position is simply a yes vote for him and stuff the constituents that need her services the most just like the disabled people she has short changed. Please help get her out!

Thumbs up to the MS society on this, now we need to get all other charities with links to Tory scum MPs to do the same and expose them before an election.

You don't stand a hope in hell of getting much support for this MP and why should he build his profile on the backs of the people he doesn't care about, I hope more charities follow by example and do the same as the MS Society, well done them.

I am so pleased to see that the MS Society have done this. Perhaps other charities will follow suit. These miscreants need shaming.

About time too. Glad that he is being exposed along with all the other Tories who voted to punish the disabled and sick. I hope those who voted Tory now see the damage they are doing to our great country. Stop the decimation of the N.H.S get rid of these clowns who only care about amassing more wealth for themselves and their chums.
