At the time 19 people were on the bus including the driver.

A two-year-old boy, a 67-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were the most seriously injured. They have serious injuries but they are not life-threatening.

Of the others on the bus, a further ten suffered injuries and were taken to hospital. No-one else was hurt.

The road was reopened at 10pm.

Investigations into the collision are ongoing.

Inspector Andy Tester, from the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the double decker bus prior to the collision.

“We’d also like to hear from any motorists who may have dash cam footage from the area around that time.”
