Piers Morgan swooped into Stockbridge High Street on Friday evening to switch on the Christmas lights, however things didn't quite go to plan.
Ever the showman, Piers got the crowd going and had them counting down to the ultimate sparkling moment, in true Christmas panto villain style - Piers pushed down on the plunger shouting, 'let's go!" but Stockbridge stayed in the dark.
The crowd laughed as Piers threw his arms up in the air and his face fell with confusion.
The beautiful Stockbridge christmas lights did switch on around 20 minutes later.
The dedicated Stockbridge Lights facebook page said that it was the best ever christmas lights and wrote, 'You couldn't have scripted it.'
The incident has certainly put Stockbridge on the map with Piers Morgan and his co-host, Susanna Reid talking about it all morning on 'Good Morning Britain' and the incident trending on Twitter.
