Leader of Test Valley, Cllr Phil North slammed Aster on his facebook page today (17th July 2018).
Aster applied for planning permission to build four houses on Venice Court in Roman Way, the application requested that they be allowed to demolish existing garages to make room for them.
TVBC's planning department rejected the application last week.
In North's facebook post, he points out that Aster entered into 'Pre Application' talks with TVBC and were advised that permission for the houses was unlikely to be approved, he goes on to say that Aster appear to be wasting their money chasing 'schemes' that have little or no chance of success.
An Aster spokesperson told Andover & Villages, "“We’re disappointed that the planning committee has chosen not to support our application on this occasion and we will look to work with Test Valley Borough Council on any areas of concern, taking into account the views of the committee and the community in any revised plans for the area.
“The garages in Venice Court have been empty and unused for over 18 months. We exist to provide and maintain homes for families to live in and we will always look at how we can best use the land we own to provide more homes for more people.
“Over the last two years we’ve built over 600 new homes in Hampshire, 147 of these have been in Andover and we have plans to bring a further 300 (approx.) homes to the region over the next year.”
Aster declined to comment on Cllr Phil North's facebook post.
