Business News | Highlights on the High Street | Andover & VillagesJulie Rhodes, owner of Studio R Hair, has received a £750 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council, marking a successful six months for the salon.

Studio R Hair is building strong roots in the area with long-term investments planned over its 10-year lease, including the creation of a consultation room to treat hair conditions and the recruitment of an apprentice through Andover College.

Refurbishment of the hairdresser's at the former Stewart Erskine salon site at 105, High Street, Andover, included an extensive re-fit undertaken by Andover-based tradespeople, including new wiring and flooring. The premium salon features six workstations, with owner Julie working alongside two self-employed hairdressers.

Julie Rhodes, owner of Studio R Hair, said: “The past six months have flown by, we have loved every minute! Thank you so much to Test Valley Borough Council for the support. We are very proud of what we're achieving here at the salon, Studio R Hair is the only salon in Andover to use luxury brands La Biosthetique and L’Anza products. The grant from Test Valley Borough Council has had a fantastic impact on our business.”

Andover ward member, Councillor Iris Andersen, presented the Business Incentive Grant. Councillor Iris Andersen, said: “It is very positive to see an entrepreneur investing in the town. The upper High Street area is growing in popularity, with several new lets. I’m delighted to present this Business Incentive Grant to Studio R Hair and wish them every success.”

Test Valley Borough Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
