Hampshire News | Council welcomes Financial Boost for Infrastructure | Andover & VillagesHampshire County Council has welcomed news of the Government’s Growth Deal funding to the Enterprise M3 LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) for the benefits it will bring to Hampshire residents and businesses.

Councillor Rob Humby, Executive Member for Environment and Transport at Hampshire County Council, said: “This is very welcome news for Hampshire. The Enterprise M3 LEP has effectively brought together key organisations to deliver a robust economic strategy for the area, and has been rewarded with a significant amount of funding for infrastructure projects which will benefit residents and businesses. The £71million awarded to the Enterprise M3 LEP is second only – outside of London - to the huge South East LEP made up of Kent, East Sussex and Surrey. It is a very welcome boost for this part of Hampshire.”

The Enterprise M3 LEP will use the allocation to fund housing, transport, skills development, and enterprise and innovation projects across the area it covers - from the New Forest, central North Hampshire and South West Surrey.

Councillor Humby continued: “We are already seeing the benefits of what good partnership working can deliver. The next phase of the £20million new relief road at Whitehill and Bordon underpins the regeneration of the area, and is being delivered in partnership between the County Council and the Enterprise M3 LEP. The scheme is well underway and an excellent example of what can be achieved with a strong, joint vision and common goal.”
