Andover Lifestyle News | Do You Have A Jemima Puddle-Duck 50p? | Andover & VillagesDo you have a Jemima Puddle-Duck 50p? New circulation figures show it is the second rarest 50p.

Last year the Royal Mint released a set of five coins to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter.

The coins featured her beloved characters Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck.

However, only 2.1 million Jemima Puddle-Duck coins were released into circulation, that’s less than 20% of Peter Rabbit and half the amount of Squirrel Nutkin which has the 2nd lowest mintage.

When one coin in a series has a much lower mintage figure, collectors struggle to complete the set, consequently the Jemima Puddle-Duck coin has become highly sought-after.

Some coins on Ebay are already selling at more than 17 times their face value.
