M&S is launching the ultimate breakfast indulgence that combines France’s signature pastry with one of America’s greatest exports.
Until now the ‘Cruffin’ hybrid has only been available in artisan bakeries such as Foxcroft & Ginger in London and Mr. Holmes Bakehouse in San Francisco but this month M&S is bringing it to the high street for the first time for all to enjoy.
To create the bakery innovation buttery croissant pastry is moulded into a muffin shape, generously packed with filling and dusted in sugar. This makes for a delicious treat that combines the best bits of a croissant and a muffin – it has the crispy and flaky outside of a croissant with the soft and doughy texture of a muffin on the inside.
Sadia Usman, M&S Bakery Expert, comments “We’re always on the lookout for the latest innovations for our customers to try and are really excited to bring the Cruffin to the high street for the first time. This delicious hybrid is made with croissant dough but looks like a muffin. We’ve developed three flavours; Seville Orange and Strawberry & Champagne which are ideal for breakfast and a Chocolate & Hazelnut – a truly moreish mid-afternoon treat!”
Available now from selected M&S stores:
· Chocolate & Hazelnut Cruffin, £1.50
· Seville Orange Cruffin, £1.50
· Strawberry & Marc de Champagne Cruffin, £1.50
