Good Food Romsey | Quorn mince recalled over fears it contains 'small pieces of metal'| Romsey & VillagesAn urgent safety warning over a vegetarian mince product sold in Tesco has been issued because it may contain small pieces of metal.

The Quorn Meat Free Mince 300g gram pack - which is only sold in Tesco - has been recalled by the manufacturer as it may contain small pieces of metal which could represent a safety risk.

A statement, issued by the Food Standards Agency, said: "Quorn Foods Ltd is recalling the product from Tesco stores. A point-of-sale-notice will be displayed at Tesco stores. This notice explains why the product is being recalled and advises consumers what to do if they have bought it."

Anyone who has bought the vegetarian-friendly product - which has the 'best before date of August 31 2018 and the batch code 136331 - is advised not to eat it but to take the product back to the store for a full refund.
