The Costa Acoustic evening took place on Saturday 14th September at The Lights.
The music was started by three very young musicians called Three’s A Crowd. The first thing that struck me was how young the musicians seemed to be. This did not make me pessimistic of their ability. If anything I was even more excited to hear them. The band was made up of Connor Fealy on Guitar, Kai Marsh on The Cajon and Joshua Yard on Guitar and Vocals.
Their repertoire consisted mostly of modern Indie covers. The sound was fantastic. The guitars worked well together and the Cajon supplied a really solid back beat. Joshua Yard’s vocal was excellent; so strong and controlled all the way through. Their song arrangements were tasteful and respectful of the originals and worked very well with the instrumentation.
The three members were very comfortable in their own discipline, but doing a live performance is always going to be a bit nerve racking – particularly if it is your first proper gig! That’s right, their first gig. I can honestly say that they should be exceptionally proud of their performance. So, remember to keep your eyes and ears open for Three’s A Crowd.
